Is is odd or tacky to use a gift card on a first date? Any responses are greatly appreciated! :)

I have had some interesting comments. Some think it doesnt matter, others feel it might leave a negative first impression. I found this online (Ok, Jen found it but I am taking it)
So I am not the only one. Its not going to stop me from seeing him, I just wanted to know opinions to know if I was crazy or not :)
